All roads lead to Iloro Ekiti, where the chairperson of the Irewolede Local Council Development Area LCDA, Mrs Dupe Bakare marks the first 100 days in office of her second term with the distribution of empowerment tools and the recognition of distinguished individuals from the LCDA.
During the ceremony, various groups including artisans, farmers, and widows received gifts such as generators, agricultural tools, and funds to support their work, while students and pupils were provided with educational materials like exercise books and school bags to aid their academic pursuits.

Additionally, a grandfather caring for twins after the loss of his daughter was provided with food, toiletries, and medication.
Educational institutions such as Iloro Community High School, Ijurin Comprehensive High School, Oke Oro Comprehensive High School, and United Primary School Okeoro-Ekiti were among the recipients of the chairperson’s generosity.
The beneficiaries of the empowerment programmes who could not hide their joy appreciated Hon. Dupe Bakare for the gesture, saying the equipment and funds would boost their businesses by rewarding productivity.

The event, which included the laying of the foundation stone for an administrative block, was attended by dignitaries such as Hon. Folorunsho Olabode, Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, as well as traditional rulers, community members, and political figures.
Entertainment was provided by Mrs. Bakare’s admirers, who performed traditional dances and songs to spice up the ceremony.
In her address, the Irewolede LCDA chairperson, Mrs Dupe Bakare said her efforts were geared towards addressing the needs of the residents and striving to make a lasting difference in their lives.

She noted that her administration had archived remarkable milestones and progress in the efforts to improve the quality of life for the residents and build viral communities, thanking royal fathers for maintaining peace and tranquillity in their domains.
Aligning her actions with Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s vision of shared prosperity, Mrs Bakare reiterated her commitment to policies that promote governance, infrastructure, human capital, agriculture, and rural development.
Mrs Bakare thanked her team for their support and acknowledged the notable contributions of prominent citizens to the council’s progress with the presentation of honorary awards and called for continued support from the LCDA community to further build thriving and inclusive societies.

“I want to express my deepest gratitude to my team, whose hard work and commitment have been instrumental in our achievements over the past 100 days. I am truly fortunate to work alongside such dedicated individuals who share a common vision and passion for serving our communities. I also want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to the former HLA, Mr Gbenga Sanya, for his significant contributions to today’s success.
“As we celebrate this significant milestone, we also have the honour of recognizing and celebrating the outstanding contributions of some of our most worthy sons and daughters. These individuals have demonstrated exceptional dedication, leadership and service to our communities and it is only fitting that we acknowledge and honour their achievements” she said.
The chairman of the event and a former House of Representatives member, Hon. Bode Ajewole, praised Hon. Bakare for her dedication to the LCDA’s transformation and her successful empowerment initiatives, which he said reflect her effective leadership.
