Like the golden fish, which has no hidden place, the good works that Hon. Dupe Bakare is doing in Irewolede LCDA have continued to receive commendations from various groups, associations and individuals within and outside Ekiti State.
The latest is from the Academy Staff Union of Secondary Schools(ASUSS), Ekiti state chapter.
ASUSS during the 12th edition of her Annual Award Day/Gala Night ceremony, which took place on the 20th of November 2024, at the Union’s Hall in the Ajebamidele area of Ado-Ekiti, recognised Hon. Bakare with the prestigious award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to local government service and humanity in general.
Other awardees included Ekiti State Head of Service, Dr.(Mrs) Oluwafolakemi Olomojobi, Hon. Rufus Ojuawo, representing Ekiti South Federal Constituency 1 at the National Assembly, Chief Magistrate Victor Akinsoji, among others.
Speaking at the event, Ekiti State Chairman of ASUSS, Comrade Sola Adigun said the tireless efforts of Hon. Bakare to enhance the lives of Irewolede residents through her educational, healthcare, empowerment, human and capital development initiatives have not gone unnoticed.
He added that the award, like all others, speaks to the dedication of the council boss to redefining governance at the grassroots level and creating a better future for all and sundry.
After receiving the award, Hon. Bakare appreciated ASUSS for the recognition and dedicated the honour to Almighty God as well as womenfolk.
Speaking with newsmen after the event, the multiple award-winning council boss described the teaching profession as a fabric of development in any society, urging the teachers to intensify more efforts in moulding future generations.
“The ASUSS play a critical role in nation-building, and implored them to put more effort into ensuring that our children get it right so that they can rise to a position that is better than where we are presently.
While congratulating Bakare, Ekiti State Commissioner For Education, Dr.(Mrs) Olabimpe Aderiye, commended her outstanding performance in Irewolede LCDA and applauded her recent stand to get rid of students roaming the streets during school hours.
The event drew dignitaries from across the state, including the Ekiti State Head of Service, Dr. Oluwafolakemi Olomojobi, Commissioner For Education, Dr.(Mrs) Olabimpe Aderiye, Chairman Teaching Service Commission, Mrs Olufunke Ojo, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Dr. Olusola Omolayo, Deacon Richard Adeola who chaired the occasion and a host of other dignitaries.
