‎‎‎‎Irewolede LCDA Organises In-House Training for Staff.

‎Determined to enhance the professional competence of its workforce for greater productivity and effective service delivery, the management of Irewolede Local Council Development Area of Ekiti State on Tuesday,10th March,2026, organised a one-day seminar on “Public Procurement, Financial Planning and Administrative Procedures” for staff and all the political office holders within the council area.

‎The exercise, which took place at the Mini Hall of the council’s secretariat, aimed to provide staff members with the opportunity to review and develop the interpersonal and professional skills they need to carry out their duties effectively.

‎Declaring the workshop open, the Executive Chairperson of the Council, Hon. (Mrs) Dupe Bakare, charged the participants to embrace the exercise as an opportunity to gain more knowledge and enhance their service delivery within their various cadres.

‎Hon. Bakare further encouraged the staff to be more diligent, punctual, faithful and put in their best efforts in any assignments given to them to take the LCDA to greater heights.

‎”You are equipping yourself through this exercise as knowledge is a continuous process. Take this opportunity seriously so that whatever you acquire today will be useful for you in the future”, she said.

‎Also speaking, the Head of Local Council Administration, Mr Babatunde Vincent said the training became imperative, particularly for the newly employed staff, and expressed appreciation to the Chairperson for approving the exercise.

‎Mr Babatunde implored the participants to avail themselves of the opportunity which the workshop provided for individual development and to deploy the knowledge gained at the workshop to enhance the well-being of the council.

‎The first lecture of the workshop with the topic “Ethical Consideration In Local Government Administrative Procedures, Financial Management and Public Accountability ” was delivered by a former Zonal Inspector in the local government service commission, Mr Bola Babalola.

‎Mr Babalola emphasised the need to maintain ethical standards, accountability and transparency in the conduct of public institutions in Nigeria.

‎He further stated that integrity, openness, honesty, inclusiveness and citizens’ participation should be encouraged, while leaders’ focus should be on the analysis of moral values and justifiable actions capable of placing general interest above personal gains and apply key points of ethical considerations in their day-to-day activities in governance.

‎The second lecture which centred on Public Procurement and award of contracts at the local government was delivered by the HLA, Mr Babatunde Vincent. The HLA opined that Procurement is one of the most important departments in any organisation, hence the need to be diligent and adhere strictly to the rules and regulations guiding it.

‎Other lectures were delivered by the Director of Administration, Mr Oladele Olutoyin, the Director of Finance, Mr Idowu Francis and the Director of BPR&S, Mr Ayodele Ogundipe.

‎In his vote of thanks, Director of Administration, Mr Oladele Olutoyin, said the exercise aligned with Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s vision that every worker should be properly trained for effective service delivery and thanked the Chairperson for approving funds for the exercise.

‎Participants expressed joy after the training and promised to make use of the knowledge gathered in their various departments and daily activities.

‎In attendance were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Samson Kolawole, Secretary, Hon. Adewale Adebo, Special Advisers, Directors, Deputy Directors and other staff.
