About us

In an effort to bring development and governance closer to the people at the grassroots in Ekiti State, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi’s administration created 19 Local Council Development Areas in the year 2021. Among these newly created areas is IREWOLEDE LCDA, which was carved out of Ijero local government area.

It consists of six autonomous towns: Iloro Ekiti, Ijurin Ekiti, Temidire Ekiti, Ayegunle Ekiti, Iroko Ekiti and Oke-Oro Ekiti, with the political headquarters situated in Iloro Ekiti.

Interestingly, traditionally and culturally these six communities have so many things in common; they speak same dialects, have similarities in all things, including dressing code. These have been helping them to coexist peacefully without war or rancour.

Accessibility to all the six towns remains one of the easiest in ekiti, basically because, they are all along the same axis. The towns are linked with a major road directly from the state Headquarters, Ado Ekiti

Irewolede LCDA commenced operations on 4th September 2021, with a staff of 45 members, spanning across all the departments of the local government council services.

Mr…. was appointed as the head of the LCDA, responsible for both political and career functions until the election of the pioneer elected political office holders.
