Iloro Ekiti Progressive Union Donates Medical Equipment Worth ₦5.5 Million to Oke Odi Health Center

The Executive Chairman of Irewolede LCDA, Hon.(Mrs) Dupe Bakare, was present on Thursday, 12 February 2026 at the Oke Odi Health Center, Iloro Ekiti where the president of the Iloro Ekiti Progressive Union (IPU) under the leadership of Mr Wole Abereifa presented medical equipment valued at #5.5 million to support and enhance healthcare delivery in the community

The council boss Hon. Bakare commended the Union for its generous intervention, noting that government alone cannot address all challenges facing the health sector.

She assured that the council would provide security for the health facility.

Hon. Bakare also called for unity, cooperation, and mutual understanding among members of the Iloro Ekiti Progressive Union, encouraging them to sustain developmental efforts in their community and urging other communities to emulate the initiative.

Furthermore, Hon. Dupe Bakare appealed to the people of Iloro Ekiti to continue supporting the administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji by casting their votes for him in the forthcoming election scheduled for June 20, 2026

The medical equipment donated included a sphygmomanometer, adult weighing scale, mattresses, bedsheets, pillows and covers, ceiling fans, laboratory equipment, a stethoscope, delivery couch, security doors, burglary fittings for the scan office, and other essential medical supplies.

The donated items were officially handed over by the Executive Chairman of Irewolede LCDA to Dr. Ayodeji Emmanuel, who oversees health services in Ijero Local Government and its environs. Dr. Emmanuel expressed appreciation to the Union, assured proper utilization of the equipment, and stated that the donation would complement the ongoing efforts of the Ekiti State Government. He also commended Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for his impactful healthcare initiatives, including the free medical care programme tagged “Ilera Wa.”

Prominent personalities at the event included the Executive Chairman of Irewolede LCDA, Hon. (Mrs.) Dupe Bakare; Secretary to the Council, Hon. Adebo Adewale; Head of LCDA, Mr. Babatunde Vincent; Dr. Ayodeji Emmanuel; medical officers; community leaders; traditional leaders; and spiritual leaders.
