Irewolede LCDA Chairman, Hon. (Mrs) Dupe Bakare, has taken proactive steps to boost the council’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) as 2025 approaches. To achieve this, she constituted a committee headed by Vice Chairman, Hon. Samson Kolawole, to develop a plan of action.
The committee embarked on a three-day sensitization tour across the six communities in Irewolede LCDA, emphasizing the importance of tax payment. The tour covered Oke Oro, Ayegunle, Iroko, Temidire, Ijurin, and Iloro Ekiti.
During the tour, Hon. Samson Kolawole commended the communities for their support and contributions, particularly in tax payment. He appealed for more support as 2025 draws near and encouraged traditional rulers to urge their sons and daughters in diaspora to contribute to the council’s development.
The Director of Finance, Mr. Idowu Francis, highlighted the significance of tax payment, explaining that the government uses IGR generated from each town as a parameter for sharing benefits.
The council of obas, led by HRM Oba James Olugbesoye, expressed support for the council’s rapid development. The team also discussed the dangers of drug abuse, examination malpractice, and the importance of monitoring children’s activities.
The entourage included notable figures such as the Vice Chairman, Hon. Samson Kolawole, Secretary, Hon. Adebo Adewale, HLA, Mr. Omotayo Titiloye, Director of Administration, Mr. Oladele Olutoyin, Director of Finance, Mr. Idowu Francis, Director of Audit, Mrs Olowoyo Iyabo and others.
