Speak Up Against Abuse , Ekiti Council Boss , Bakare , Urges Children

The Executive Chairperson of Irewolede Local Council Development Area of Ekiti State, Hon.(Mrs) Dupe Bakare, has called on the Children to report incidents of abuse when faced with such a challenge.

Hon. Bakare made the call on Tuesday during the 2025 Children’s Day celebration, held at the Community Grammar School, Iloro-Ekiti.

While congratulating the children on this year’s occasion of their special day, the council boss urged them to be law-abiding and promote good moral conduct in all their dealings.

Bakare expressed appreciation to the First Lady of Ekiti State, Dr. (Mrs) Olayemi Oyebanji, for her motherly role in ensuring children across the state get the best.

She reiterated the commitment of her administration to ensuring that every child in the council area gets their pride of place in terms of their education and other welfare package.

She also called on parents to take proper care of their children and prioritise their education.

The event was marked with a funfair-featured match passes and cultural display.

At the end of the match pass, Ijurin Comprehensive High School came first in the secondary school category, while Ayetoro/Iloro High School and African Grammar School, Iloro-Ekiti, emerged 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

In the primary school category, St. Paul’s Pillot School, Ijurin-Ekiti, came first, while Methodist Nursery/Primary School, Ijurin-Ekiti, also emerged 2nd and St. Michael’s African Primary School, Iloro-Ekiti went home with the 3rd position.

The winners were rewarded with cash gifts and exercise books. Community primary school, Temidire-Ekiti, which entertained the gathering with a cultural display, also received a gift.

In his vote of thanks, the Head of Local Council Administration, Mr Vincent Babatunde, thanked all the invited guests for honouring their invitation and wished them journey mercy to their various destinations.
