…Hails Bakare’s Impressive Performance

The Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, on Tuesday commissioned a multi-million naira ultra-modern administrative block constructed by the Executive Chairperson of Irewolede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Dupe Bakare.
Represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Folorunsho Olabode, the Governor described the project as a landmark achievement aimed at providing a conducive working environment for staff, enhancing service delivery at the grassroots, and improving overall governance efficiency.
The newly commissioned facility houses offices for the Chairman, Head of Local Administration (HLA), Secretary, and advisers, alongside a well-equipped conference hall and modern sanitary facilities.
Governor Oyebanji noted that investment in befitting administrative structures at the council level remains critical to achieving sustainable grassroots development. He described Mrs. Bakare as a committed grassroots leader who has consistently demonstrated passion for local government development.
He further assured the council leadership of the state government’s continued support to enable the delivery of more impactful projects.
In her remarks, Mrs. Bakare expressed profound appreciation to the Governor for creating an enabling environment for governance, particularly through the prompt release of funds for project execution. She described the project as a fulfilment of her administration’s commitment to strengthening governance structures and delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
She added that the project aligns with the shared prosperity agenda of the present administration and reaffirmed her commitment to improving the socio-economic well-being of residents across the council area.
Highlighting her administration’s achievements, Mrs. Bakare listed the construction of lock-up shops in Iloro, Iroko, and Temidire-Ekiti; extension of electricity to Ijurin-Ekiti; renovation of the police station at Ayegunle-Ekiti; provision of 24-hour uninterrupted power supply at the council secretariat; and construction of drainages and culverts across communities.
Other interventions include the distribution of farming implements to local farmers, financial assistance to victims of rainstorms, annual distribution of exercise books to students in public primary and secondary schools, supply of security equipment, and renovation of facilities for security operatives.
She reaffirmed her loyalty to the state government and commitment to implementing policies and programmes in line with its development agenda, while also urging residents to continue supporting Governor Oyebanji ahead of the forthcoming governorship election.
In their goodwill messages, stakeholders including Mr. Adetayo Adelupo, Mr. James Adelerin, and Mr. Tosin Ogundare (who represented former House of Representatives member, Hon. Omowumi Ogunlola) commended the Chairperson for delivering a people-oriented and impactful project. They described the administrative block as a testament to effective leadership and urged other councils to emulate such initiatives.
Similarly, the Onikun of Temidire, Oba Moses Fabusuyi, and former Commissioner for Culture, Arts and Tourism, Chief Ronke Okusanya, praised Mrs. Bakare for her dedication, loyalty, and commitment to grassroots development.
The colourful ceremony featured cultural dance performances and was attended by traditional rulers including Oba Joachim Adeyemi Ajibola (Ojurin of Ijurin-Ekiti) and Oba Sunday Ekundayo (Oluroye of Iroko-Ekiti), as well as Hon. Felicia Ibiloye, Hon. Kole Ayeni, government officials, political leaders, market women, youths, among others .
