Irewolede Local Council Development Area (LCDA) on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, conducted an open bidding exercise for the construction of a twin box culvert measuring 2 metres by 6 metres along Iworo Farm Road, Oke-Oro Ekiti.
The bidding exercise, held at the Council Secretariat, attracted three contractors who participated in the transparent procurement process.
The event was chaired by the Chairman of the Tender Board and Executive Chairman of Irewolede LCDA, Hon. (Mrs.) Dupe Bakare, who appreciated the presence of key stakeholders and officials who witnessed the exercise.
Among those present were the Oluloro of Iloro Ekiti, HRM Oba James Olugbesoye; the State Delegate from the Ministry of Local Government, Mr. Arowosola S.A.; the Local Government Zonal Inspector, Mr. Adelupo A.A.; the Head of Local Council Development Area (HLA), Mr. Babatunde Vincent; and other relevant stakeholders.
Hon. Bakare stated that the presence of the stakeholders was important in ensuring that the bidding process complied fully with the established rules and regulations guiding public procurement.
The contract was rolled out by the Director of Procurement, Mrs. Odesanmi Jeminat, under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, as part of the council’s commitment to due process, accountability and transparency in the execution of developmental projects.
The three contractors that participated in the bidding were Aboluwaji Ultimate Enterprise, Osmarc Technologies Limited, and Tolard Projects Limited.
Speaking on behalf of the participating bidders, Engr. Taiwo Felix Oladimeji expressed confidence in the transparency of the process, noting that the contractors were duly certified and that the necessary due process had been followed to determine the successful bidder.
Also speaking at the event, the Local Government Zonal Inspector, Mr. Adelupo A.A., charged the participating contractors to ensure that whoever emerged successful delivered quality and durable work that would stand the test of time.
He stressed that any work that failed to meet the required standard would not be accepted, urging the successful contractor to adhere strictly to the specifications and quality requirements of the project.
In his remarks, the HLA, Mr. Babatunde Vincent, also urged the contractors to ensure that the project was executed to a high standard and delivered in a manner that would stand the test of time.
In her closing remarks, the Chairman of the Tender Board, Hon. (Mrs.) Dupe Bakare, commended all stakeholders, officials and contractors who participated in the bidding exercise.
She also applauded the high level of transparency demonstrated throughout the process, reiterating the council’s commitment to following due process in the execution of projects for the benefit of residents.
The construction of the twin box culvert is expected to improve accessibility along Iworo Farm Road and enhance movement within the Oke-Oro Ekiti axis when completed.
